LEWISTON — Maine Family Federal Credit Union announces its three $1,000 scholarship recipients:

Emily Schario, daughter of Christopher Schario and Janet Mitchko, Auburn, is the recipient of the Maurice Fontaine Scholarship. She will attend Stonehill College fall and will study psychology and communications.

Schario is a member of the National Honor Society, softball team and soccer team. She is also involved in show choir, chamber choir and drama club. She has worked for the Public Theater is involved as a student representative with Androscoggin Valley Educational Collaborative.

Heather Krook, daughter of Kelly and George Krook, Sabattus, is the recipient of the Roger Bissonnette Scholarship. She will attend University of Maine at Fort Kent in the fall and will study nursing.

Krook is a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, field hockey team, and in the top 10 of her class. She works at Clover Manor Nursing Home, and has volunteered at the SeniorsPlus, Maine Maple Sunday and the Bone Marrow Drive.

Brianna Degone, daughter of Cheryl and Steven Degone, Turner, is the recipient of the Founders Scholarship. She will attend University of Maine in the fall and will study biological engineering.

A member of the National Honor Society, basketball, field hockey and track and field, Degone is the class valedictorian. She works at Progressive Distribution Center and has volunteered at the Special Olympics, Autism Awareness the Dempsey Challenge and many other organizations.
