JAY — Police in Livermore Falls and Jay were dealing with nine reports early Wednesday of vehicles broken into in Chisholm Village. Items stolen included electronics and cash.

A 17-year-old Auburn boy was charged with motor vehicle burglary and theft, Jay police officer Nicholas Gulliver said Wednesday.

The boy was released to his parents’ custody.

Investigations began when Jay police received a complaint of suspicious activity on Elm Street in the early morning hours, he said.

The streets where vehicles were burglarized in Jay included Elm and Dubord streets.

In Livermore Falls, vehicles were burglarized on Bemis, Church and Knapp streets, Livermore Falls officer Stephen E. Gould said.

Jay officer Mike Mejia and Livermore Falls officer Dan Chabot searched the Chisholm area early Wednesday and located the teenager, Gulliver said.

The cases will be sent to a juvenile corrections officer to review.

If anyone had their vehicles entered and items taken, they are asked to report it to police in the town the burglary occurred. In Jay, call 897-6766 and in Livermore Falls, call 897-3424.
