- A crew working for Reed & Reed Wind Power Services of Woolwich recently installed these towering utility poles beside Route 2 on Morrison Hill in Carthage and was busy Wednesday morning laying electricity transmission lines from the poles in a trench running a mile up Winter Hill Road. Wires from the poles will cross Route 2 and be placed on wood poles in a clear-cut strip through woods for seven miles to a proposed substation in Canton near Central Maine Power’s 115 kV regional transmission line, according to the Saddleback Ridge Wind Project’s fact sheet.
