The winning team, from left, Marilyn Lord, Arline Amos, Georgiana Woodford, and Faye Chadbourne prevailed in the Lady Golfers’ tournament at Maple Lane Golf Course. Forty golfers faced rain and mist to play in an 18-hole scramble to raise the money for Bennett Breast Care Center in Lewiston. They then bid on over 30 items donated by area businesses to help pay for mammograms for patients. High-interest items were a white-water rafting trip and golf passes at Sugarloaf Golf Course. There was a separate raffle for a quilt made and donated by Sue St. Pierre. A donation of $3,400 will be given to the center. First-place passes to Norway Country Club went to Woodford, Lord, Chadbourne and Amos. Second-place golf bags went to the team of Michelle St. Jean, Judy Howard, Kim Soule, and Cindy Schrepper. Third-place passes to Oakdale Country Club were given to Judi Richard, Lisa Mackenzie, Tammy Hall-Eldredge, and Dawn McLaughlin. Kim Soule won the longest drive on the first hole. Closest to the pin on No. 3 went to Judy Ouelette, while closest to the pin on No. 6 was won by Chadbourne.
