PHILLIPS — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a complaint of damage to construction barricades that occurred over the weekend, according to a release.
The damage was reported Monday morning.
Between 8:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday morning someone destroyed two road barricades at Reeds Mill and Toothaker Pond roads, Lt. David Rackliffe said.
“These barricades were placed to prevent someone from driving into a huge ditch created by torrential rains and flooding earlier this summer,” he said. “Prior to this, someone destroyed a ‘No Thru Trucks’ sign in the same area.”
Local residents have reported seeing a small blue car driving erratically in the area and there is blue paint on the sign base, he said.
