WINTHROP — Maine Dental Health Out-Reach, Inc. recently received a $1,000 grant from the Northeast Delta Dental Foundation to purchase oral hygiene supplies. This grant will provide necessary assistance to Maine Dental Health Out-Reach’s Dental Hygiene Services for School Children mobile program.
“The mission of Maine Dental Health Out-Reach is to improve the oral health of Maine children through providing comprehensive dental hygiene services to children that receive no regular dental care,” said Susanne LaVallee, Executive Director of Maine Dental Health Out-Reach, Inc. “This generous grant from the Foundation allows us to purchase new oral hygiene supplies that are needed to continue providing services to over 600 children each school year.”
Maine Dental Health Out-Reach, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that has provided oral health care services to underserved children in a mobile van at Central and Western Maine schools since 2003. Maine Dental Health Out-Reach, Inc. offers preventive dental hygiene services, temporary filling restorations and case-management services to children ages 4-18. Ninety-eight percent of students seen are low-income and MaineCare (Medicaid) eligible with no dental home.
