The East Auburn team from the Auburn Suburban Little League Babe Ruth Division captured its second consecutive championship crown with a thrilling 5-4 win over rival 99 Restaurant. Winning pitcher Gavin Bates went the distance on the mound, holding the 99 Restaurant to three hits and striking out 15 batters. Bates had three hits to pace the offense. Drew Tiner also contributed two hits to the winning cause and Zach Boyd hit a key two-run single. Mason Brushwein, Josh Hamel and catcher Ben Harris sparkled on defense.
