MANSFIELD, Mass. (AP) — A Maine man is facing animal cruelty charges for allegedly leaving his dog in a hot car while he attended an all-day concert in Massachusetts.
Police say 60-year-old Edwin Harrington Jr. of Boothbay Harbor, Maine, left the Boston terrier-bulldog mix in his car in the parking lot at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield on Thursday at the Vans Warped Tour.
The Sun Chronicle (http://bit.ly/1mRlXij ) reported that police were alerted to the dog’s presence in the car at about 2:30 p.m. Witnesses say Harrington was last seen at about 10:45 a.m.
The windows were lowered about three inches, but authorities say it may have been 130 degrees inside.
The dog had heat stroke and shock and couldn’t walk.
Harrington was held on $1,000 bail. It’s not clear if he has a lawyer.
