RANGELEY — A Massachusetts teenager seriously injured in a car accident June 1 on Route 4 is expected to go home this week.

Janessa Gordon, 18, of Melrose, Mass., was a front-seat passenger in a car when the driver lost control, and it went off the road and rolled over.

Gordon was treated at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston until June 6, when she was transferred to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Rangeley police Chief Dennis Leahy said Sgt. Jared Austin spoke to Gordon’s father last week, and he told him his daughter would be released from rehabilitation soon.

According to a Twitter post by Gordon’s sister Gianna, Gordon was to go home Wednesday.

The driver of the car, Marilenis Waldron, 17, of Saugus, Mass., is facing a felony charge of aggravated driving to endanger. Waldron was driving west on Route 4 and saw a car with a friend in it, Leahy previously said. Waldron tried to pass the other car and lost control on a curve at the bottom of the hill. The car landed on its roof.

One teenager in the back seat was ejected from the car. Gordon, who was not wearing a seat belt, received the most serious injuries. Of the five people in the car, three were hurt.

The teenagers from Massachusetts were among more than 20 who had come to Maine for a graduation party.

The teenager who rented the house, Courtney Delgado, 18, of Melrose, Mass., was issued a summons on a misdemeanor charge of furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol.

Gordon had no alcohol or drugs in her system, according to her mother and police.
