SOUTH PORTLAND (AP) — Husson University and Southern Maine Community College have signed an agreement that will make it easier for students to transfer their credits between the schools.

The schools recently celebrated the agreement, which they say will facilitate the transfer of credits from some associate degree programs at SMCC into bachelor’s degree programs at Husson. Among the SMCC programs included in the agreement are business administration, computer technology and criminal justice.

Husson University College of Business Dean Marie Hansen says the agreement will prevent students from taking “unneeded credits and spending money on courses that won’t count toward a bachelor’s degree.”
