FARMINGTON — A Rumford man was arrested on a charge of criminal speed early Tuesday morning after police clocked his motorcycle going 83 mph in a 35 mph zone.
Thomas Gilbert, 44, was driving a 1983 Honda motorcycle on Lucy Knowles Road about 5:10 a.m. Tuesday, police Chief Jack Peck said. Farmington police officer Derek Doucette was on the road running radar, he said.
Gilbert was lucky there were no deer or other animals on the rural road, Peck said.
Gilbert was taken to Franklin County Detention Center.
