This is in response to the letter from Hilary Ware, published June 24.
I wish she had made a phone call to me, because I think she has jumped to some conclusions regarding my interest in Norway that are not correct.
My granddaughter turned 16 on June 16 and I made a decision that I belonged with my family to help celebrate that day with her. I did read the warrant and the recommendations of the selectpersons and budget committee, and I felt that they had studied the issues and made appropriate recommendations.
I do not believe that my attendance or not at town meeting on the 16th has anything to do with how Ware plans to vote in the fall, as she has financially supported my opponent’s campaign since early spring.
I have represented these towns in Augusta for the better part of 12 years and I am proud of the efforts I have made to keep myself available to constituents and informed on their desires and views.
It is not always easy to balance work, family and the responsibilities of office, but I continue to give it my best effort.
Rep. Tom Winsor, R-Norway
