PORTLAND — Maine prosecutors say one of three people arrested on a charge of operating a sex-trafficking business from a Gorham home has been sentenced to five years in prison.

Cumberland County Deputy District Attorney Megan Elam said Monday that 26-year-old Klein Fernandes was sentenced for sex trafficking and aggravated assault. He pleaded guilty to sex trafficking involving two victims between December and March of this year. Elam says Fernandes was on probation for a 2008 armed robbery arrest at the time and was also sentenced for violating probation.

Fernandes was one of three people arrested in March on charges of exploiting a 19-year-old girl and requiring her to engage in commercial sex acts with strangers.
