LIVERMORE FALLS — Selectmen voted Tuesday to accept the bid of $5,300 from a Livermore man for a town-acquired property at 19 Munsey Ave., Town Manager Kristal Flagg said Wednesday.

The property was taken for outstanding sewer fees of $2,329.66, Flagg told selectmen last month.

In all, $3,657.43 was owed, including $1,327.77 for taxes.

Selectmen put a minimum bid of $5,000 on the property.

The board accepted Richard Damon’s bid, she said. The only other bid received was $5,100 submitted by Alan Adams and Richard Cushing.

In other business, selectmen voted to have Louise Chabot serve as board chairwoman.

They also appointed newly elected board member Ron Chadwick to serve on a joint sewer committee, Flagg said.

The committee is made up of two selectpersons from Jay and Livermore Falls, and the town managers. They are reviewing an agreement on the Livermore Falls Wastewater Treatment Plant to see if it should stay in place, be amended or change the governing process.

The plant is owned by Livermore Falls, but the towns share the costs of operating and maintenance based on sewage treated at the plant.
