HARRISON (AP) — A 73-year-old Maine man was seriously injured when his motorcycle struck a turning truck.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office says Stanwood Horne of Rumford was riding his motorcycle on Norway Road in Harrison on Saturday afternoon when the collision occurred.

Authorities said Horne didn’t see the truck was making a right turn and attempted to go around it on the right.

They say Horne’s motorcycle struck the truck as it was turning and he was ejected from the his motorcycle.

Capt. Donald Goulet says Horne was taken to Maine Medical Center with serious head trauma and internal injuries.

Horne was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was listed in critical condition Saturday.
