NEW GLOUCESTER — A 21-year-old New Gloucester man is being held at the Cumberland County Jail, accused of attacking his mother’s boyfriend Friday night with a sword.
Karamon Davis was charged with Class B aggravated assault and Class D criminal mischief, according to a news release from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers from the sheriff’s office and Windham Police Department responded at 10 p.m. Friday to a report from a woman that her 21-year-old son had struck her 45-year-old live-in boyfriend in the head with a large sword.
The victim was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston by an ambulance from the New Gloucester Fire and Rescue Department. Police reported that he suffered injuries to his head that were non-life threatening.
Davis had run from the Rowe Station Road scene before police arrived. Davis was found a couple hours later by a Windham police officer and his tracking dog.
He was taken to the jail and bail was set at $1,000 cash. He remained at the jail Saturday afternoon.
