LIVERMORE — Fire officials say a woman has died in a late night fire Tuesday that destroyed her home in Livermore.

Dorothy Goding, 83, who lived alone at her early 1880s home on Poland Hill Road, died in the fire, according to the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Spokesman Steve McCausland said the blaze was reported at about 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The home was fully involved when firefighters arrived. More than 40 firefighters battled the blaze.

There were no reports of other injuries.

The fire remains under investigation.
