LEWISTON — A story published on the front page Monday on human rights awards conferred at Bates College should have said Betsy Parsons is no longer teaching at Waynflete but has been a longtime teacher at Deering and Portland high schools. Also, the exact quote attributed to the World War II soldier by Parsons was: “What do you think our boys died for at Omaha Beach?” They were reporting errors.
