Course volunteers cheer for Maryann Fogarty, third from left, and Kim Hutchins as the two near the end of the Safe Voices 5K Walk/Run to End Domestic Violence in Lewiston on Sunday. University of Southern Maine social and behavioral science students Savannah Beaudry, left; Tonya Bailey-Curry, second from left; Carmen Edwards, second from right; and Steven Doyle met each of the 180 runners with enthusiasm as they passed down Lincoln Street. Following the run, about 200 walkers followed a separate course to help raise money for Safe Voices, an organization that supports those affected by domestic violence in Androscoggin, Oxford and Franklin counties. “We raised over $30,000, which makes a big difference for the communities that we serve,” event planner Kim Preble said. “What’s not to like?” Fogarty said. “Support victims of domestic violence and getting in shape at the same time.”
