FARMINGTON — The mission of the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area is to unite people and resources to improve lives and build a strong and healthy community.

UWTVA has announced that it has Venture Grant funds of $10,000 total for 2014 that are available for nonprofit organizations, coalitions or individuals that/who submit proposals for programs that meet the necessary criteria. Grants will be made from a minimum of $500 and up to $10,000.

Venture Grant applications must be in alignment with the mission of the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area.

UWTVA Venture Grants are designed to provide the additional resources needed to support projects that are new, innovative, collaborative, sustainable and will fulfill the needs and improve the lives of people living in Franklin County, Starks, Livermore and Livermore Falls.

Applications should be clear and concise; the narratives should succinctly answer the question(s) asked in each section of the attached application.

Applications are due no later than noon Monday, June 16.

Funds must be used as agreed; requests for changes must be submitted in writing to UWTVA.

All funds must be spent within one year of the award; any unspent funds will be returned to UWTVA.

An interim report with projected outcomes must be submitted six months after receipt of grant and another within a year after receipt of grant or within 45 days of the end of the project, whichever comes first. Copies of pictures, flyers, letters or other materials are encouraged.
