RUMFORD — During a brief special meeting Thursday evening, selectmen approved the warrant and notice of election for the RSU 10 budget validation referendum for June 10.
The board also voted 5-0 to appoint five residents to Municipal Resources subcommittees after Selectman Frank DiConzo’s motion was seconded.
The five residents and subcommittees are:
* Rick Greene, Park and Rec Subcommittee.
* Chris Carver, Fire Subcommittee.
* Dieter Kreckel, Town Hall/Finance Subcommittee.
* Janice Casey, Police Subcommittee.
* Timothy Giasson, Fire Subcommittee.
Greene, Carver and Kreckel also are members of the Finance Committee.
At previous meetings, Mexico selectmen have appointed residents who volunteered to serve on the various Municipal Resources subcommittees to consider consolidating services between the two towns.
The subcommittees are nonbinding, nonvoting, advisory-only.
Thursday night’s meeting was scheduled for the town manager’s office, but because more people showed up than expected, it was moved to the Municipal Building Jury Room.
After selectmen adjourned the meeting, Town Clerk Beth Bellegarde met with selectmen Chairman Greg Buccina and Selectman Frank DiConzo, who are serving in the June 10 school budget referendum, town meeting referendum and primaries as the ballot warden and deputy wardens, and Town Moderator Rob Cameron to review balloting procedures.
