HEBRON — A local woman suffered significant facial injuries Saturday afternoon when she fell from her motorcycle.

Lisa Crawford, 40, was riding her Yamaha motorcycle, following her husband as he drove his motorcycle, at the intersection of Allen and Buckfield roads at around 5:30, said Oxford County Deputy Nathan Bowie.

She failed to negotiate a corner, “got onto a soft corner and fell, sustaining significant facial injuries,” Bowie said. Crawford was not wearing a helmet. “A full face helmet would have made a difference,” Bowie said. “She was in and out of consciousness.”

Crawford was taken by PACE Ambulance to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. An off-duty paramedic from Oxford, John Monahan, drove by, saw the crash and stopped to assist, Bowie said.
