I’m supporting Troy Jackson in the June 10 Democratic primary for the 2nd Congressional District.

It was a simple decision for me. Jackson has stood firm for my family, and all middle class folks in Maine, while Emily Cain has not.

In 2011-2012, during the budget battle, Cain compromised on the backs of the middle class and gave tax breaks to Maine’s wealthy.

Jackson stood firm. He would not sell his constituents short to give the rich a tax break. Public employees took it on the chin and the rich got a tax break in the name of compromise.

In Washington, corporate interests and Wall Street want to cut Social Security, Medicare and roll back workers’ rights. Cain has shown that she will compromise on the issues that matter to me in Maine, and I believe she will do the same in Washington.

That’s why I am voting for Troy Jackson.
