HARRISON — A fire Thursday evening destroyed a small, unoccupied cottage at 97 Deertrees Road.

Town Manager George “Bud” Finch said the call came in at 9:20 p.m. The first units on the scene reported the structure was engulfed in flames. Firefighters quickly knocked down the blaze, but overhaul will take a while, Finch said.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal was notified.
