BRUNSWICK — A 57-year-old landlord was charged Tuesday with threatening to shoot a female tenant with a shotgun in front of her small children.

Peter Davis was charged Tuesday morning with felony criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and terrorizing, Deputy Police Chief Marc Hagan said.

Davis told police he was frustrated with the pace of their investigation into a burglary at his apartment building and “said he would take care of it himself,” Hagan said.

He allegedly threatened a 21-year-old woman outside the building, with her 1-year-old and 4-month-old children present.

Following the arrest, police executed a search warrant at Davis’ home and recovered a loaded shotgun and rifle.

Hagan said Davis actively resisted arrest and was taken to Mid Coast Hospital after complaining of pain from an alleged injury during the arrest. The hospital released him, but police returned him to Mid Coast after he again complained of pain.

He was bailed from the hospital on $1,500 unsecured bail.

Davis is scheduled to appear in Cumberland County Superior Court on July 22.

The burglary remains under investigation.
