In recent months, it has come to light that the people who have been chosen to run the town of New Gloucester have been accused of having questionable tactics in their handling of town business.
Recently, I was appalled to receive an anonymous, oversized postcard in my mailbox, stating that giving the power back to the citizens of New Gloucester is wrong, and that looking behind the power curtain is forbidden. For some reason these people think that New Gloucester will fall off the Earth if the wizard is exposed.
It is fairly obvious that someone is nervous that they will be exposed for who they truly are.
Returning the power of local governments to the people is a growing trend, and should be a sign that the “good ole boys” days are over, and that town officials will be held accountable for their actions.
