CARRABASSETT VALLEY — Maine’s 2013-14 Alpine ski season will come to a close Sunday, May 4, when Sugarloaf offers its final day of skiing.
Sugarloaf has more than 50 trails open, with lift service available on the SuperQuad.
The resort extended its season into May once again, thanks to nearly 8 feet of snow during the past two months and consistently cold temperatures well into April.
“We’ve enjoyed a tremendous spring season,” Ethan Austin, Sugarloaf’s director of marketing, said in a statement. “The snow has been incredible, Reggae Fest was our biggest ever and we’re looking forward to being the last resort in Maine to close for the season once again.”
Sugarloaf’s summer operations are scheduled to begin in late May, when the Sugarloaf Golf Club opens for its 29th season. The course has been ranked Maine’s No. 1 golf course by Golf Digest for 28 of its 29 seasons.
