FARMINGTON — Celebrating local foods and the opening of the summer season for the Sandy River Farmer’s Market, the third annual Fiddlehead Festival: Local Food Day on Saturday, May 3, offers a presentations, antique tractors and food.
“There’s something for everyone at this great growing-season kickoff event,” Luke Kellett, an organizer and sustainability coordinator at the University of Maine at Farmington, said in a statement. “It’s a festive atmosphere and a great place to make connections with locally grown and native wild food resources.”
The festival takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with most events on the UMF campus, Lillian Lake, a sponsor, said. Academy Street will be closed to allow a display of antique tractors and stations for other presenters.
