PORTLAND (AP) — A Maine government survey says the average price of heating oil in the state has dropped 2 cents in the past week, to $3.62 per gallon.
The Governor’s Energy Office said Wednesday the average statewide price for a gallon of heating oil is 12 cents more than this time last year.
The survey found a range of $3.35 to $3.90. It also found the average price of kerosene dropped 2 cents to $4.09 per gallon. The average propane price is now $3.19, a drop of 4 cents per gallon.
The Energy Office said in a statement that the high costs of this heating season are “in the rear view mirror.”
