Hunter safety course
A Hunter Safety Course will be sponsored by the Western Maine Fish and Game club at the Harrison Fire Station on Saturday, April 26, and Sunday, April 27, from 8 a.m .to 4 p.m. both days.
Students must attend both days to receive the certification. Students must be at least 10 years old and those 12 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Students attending the class under the age of 18 must have a parent sign the card on Saturday morning. Students are asked not to bring any weapons or live ammunition to the classes. Class size will be limited to 40 students on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.
A $3.00 donation will be required per student. Refreshments will be available for sale. For more information call Arlin at 583-4535 or Chuck at 583-6283.
Lacrosse offered
With the help of the U.S .Lacrosse Association and coach Rick White, the Greater Rumford Community Center will able to offer Lacrosse this spring.
GRCC received a grant to bring this sport to the local area.
The sport is open to all middle school students in the local area. It will not interfere with middle school sports. Practices will be held after middle school sports, and games will be played on weekends.
The first practice will be Wednesday at 5:30 at the Hosmer Field Athletic complex in the Hockey rink. The first games for this new team are May 3.
For more information, contact GRCC to sign up or contact coach White at 364-3851. The coach of the team will be Jeff Gilbert. High school players and White will assist as well.
Prospect Hill
AUBURN — The first day of play for the for the Men’s Senior League will be Thursday, May 1, beginning at 9 a.m.
