LIVERMORE FALLS — The RSU 73 board has narrowed the slate of superintendent applicants to two men from Maine.
Board Chairwoman Denise Rodzen said tentative plans call for presenting the two to the full board in May and hopefully have the position filled by July 1.
Eight men from Maine applied for the position being vacated by Robert Wall, who is retiring June 30. He served as superintendent since 2011, and as superintendent for Jay for several years before that. He agreed to stay on if the position is not filled by the target date.
Rodzen said the Superintendent Search Committee interviewed all eight applicants and visited the workplaces of several of them last week.
The committee is seeking a person who possess skills in personnel management, community relations and budget development, and knowledge of facilities maintenance.
RSU 73 includes the towns of Jay, Livermore and Livermore Falls.
