AARP chapter meets April 14
PARIS — The Oxford Hills Chapter of AARP will meet on Monday, April 14, at the First Congregational Church on East Main Street.
Lunch will be served at noon and a chicken dinner is on the menu. The cost is $6.50 and reservations are required by calling Ruth at 744-9069 by Friday, April 11.
The business meeting will begin at 12:45. Members are reminded to bring small items for shut-ins bags as well as continuing support of the Food Pantry. The book/puzzle swap is also continuing.
The program will be presented by Katie Branch, a health and wellness representative, featuring chair exercises.
Easter egg hunt for Harrison children
HARRISON — The Easter bunny has hidden eggs all over Crystal Lake Park. All Harrison girls and boys ages 1-9 are welcome to come to the park and find the eggs on Saturday, April 12, beginning promptly at 10 a.m.
Parents are asked to arrive no later than 9:45 a.m. and park behind Crystal Lake Park on Mill Street. Children will be grouped according to age and will hunt in a designated areas.
This special spring event will take place despite inclement weather, so dress accordingly. Bring a camera and have your child’s picture taken with the Easter Bunny. An Easter basket will be given away to one lucky girl and boy.

Legion Auxiliary plans craft fair
MECHANIC FALLS — American Legion Auxiliary Unit 150 will hold its annual spring craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at American Legion Post 150, 41 Elm St.
There will be crafts,white elephant table, Chinese auction and bake sale.
Otisfield church starts supper season
OTISFIELD — The first supper of the season will be held at East Otisfield Free Baptist Church on Saturday, April 12. Seatings will be at 5 and 6 p.m.
The menu will be macaroni and cheese and shepherd’s pie, salads and desserts. The church is at 231 Rayville Road, off Route 121 about a mile. Donations are appreciated.
Fire Auxiliary public supper
PARIS — Paris Fire Department Auxiliary will hold a public supper at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at Paris Fire Department, Western Avenue.
The meal will feature roast pork, potatoes, veggies, macaroni and cheese, salads, rolls and pies for dessert. Adults, $8; ages 4-12, $4; under age 3, free.
All proceeds benefit the Paris Fire Department Auxiliary and fire personnel.
Team FROYD will be present selling luminary bags for the Relay for Life of Oxford Hills for $10 each.

Honey Bee Club plans workshop
PARIS — Oxford Hills Honey Bee Club’s workshop will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at the Oxford County Extension Center, 9 Olson Road.
Speaker will be former Maine State Bee Inspector, Paul Szott. Topic will be spring maintenance, and getting ready for nucs.

Center to offer Finnish classes
WEST PARIS — Finnish language classes will resume on Saturday, April 12, at the Finnish American Heritage Center, 8 Maple St.
Beginners and intermediate level classes will be offered on April 12, April 26, May 10 and May 24.
The beginners class will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The advanced classes will be from 1 to 3 p.m.
Marja Leena Bailey will be the instructor. Her method of teaching makes it productive, interesting and fun.
Cost is $95 per person and $50 for each additional household member.

MECHANIC FALLS — Breakfast with the Easter Bunny will be held from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 13, at American Legion Post 150, 41 Elm St.
Seniors, $6; adults, $7; children under 3 free. Includes breakfast, pictures with the Easter Bunny and crafts.

Hartford-Sumner kindergarten
SUMNER — Hartford-Sumner Elementary School, serving the towns of Hartford, Sumner and Buckfield, will hold kindergarten registration and screening for the 2014 kindergarten class from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 17 and 18.
All children who register must be 5 years old on or before Oct. 15.
To register contact the school office at 388-2681. Be prepared to provide the child’s name, address, telephone number and date of birth. Parents must bring an official copy of the child’s birth certificate. Screenings last approximately one hour.
All students must be registered and screened prior to enrollment, including current preschoolers.
