AUBURN — Hazel I. Abbott, 79, of Norway died Saturday morning, March 29, at the Hospice House in Auburn.
She was born in South Paris, March 3, 1935, the daughter of Ellis and Bessie Corbett Bean Sr. Hazel graduated from Paris High School in the Class of 1954.
Hazel was a homemaker and babysitter. For a short time, she worked at MECON Manufacturing.
She was married to Lawrence Estes and later married Lloyd Abbott.
Hazel was an avid Red Sox fan, and enjoyed reading and Chinese auctions. She was a member of the Paris Fire Department Ladies’ Auxiliary.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Cox and her husband, Steve, of Oxford; son, Windsor Abbott of Norway; grandson, Brian Cox and his wife, Jennifer; granddaughters, Audrey Cox and Tasha Russell; three great-grandsons, Carter and Bryson Cox and Jaxson Brine; two brothers, Ellis Bean, Jr. of South Paris, and Keith Bean of Hillsborough ,N.H.; and several nieces and nephews.
Hazel was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd; daughter, Dawn Brissette; sister, Marion Field; brother, Earl Bean and her companion, Don Norton.
