FARMINGTON — Albertine Joyce (Gould) Smith, 87, of Dryden, died early Friday evening, Mar 28, at the Sandy River Center in Farmington with her family by her side.

She was born on April 23, 1926, in Kingfield, a daughter of Raymond A. and Grace Mae (Newell) Gould, Sr. She attended New Portland schools, graduating from Central High School in 1944 and Skowhegan Business School in 1947.

On Oct. 15, 1947, she married F. Robert Smith in North New Portland at her mother’s home.

Albertine worked as the Clerk of Court in Skowhegan and, for 20 years, at Bass Shoe in Wilton. Her most important work, however, was as a loving wife and mother.

She was a former member of the Wilton United Methodist Church, past president of the Farmington Emblem Club No. 460 and a former Franklin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary volunteer.
