FARMINGTON — A jogger is in intensive care at Central Maine Medical Center after being struck by a pickup truck Sunday morning.
According to Sgt. Edward Hastings of the Farmington Police Department, Tess Perry, 25, of Farmington was jogging along the Fairbanks Road in the vicinity of Partridge Lane around 9:09 a.m. when the accident occurred.
Hastings said Colin Gallagher, 25, of Brunswick was on his way to Rangeley to go snowmobiling with his friends when he lost control of his 2002 Dodge pickup truck on the slushy road.
According to Hastings, Gallagher then went off the road and into a snowbank, striking Perry along the way.
Hastings said Perry was taken to CMMC by NorthStar Ambulance and was in the intensive care unit as of Sunday afternoon.
Farmington Fire Department assisted, and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department was called out to reconstruct the scene.
Hastings said the accident is still under investigation.
