MOLUNKUS — A Kingman school bus driver was taken to the hospital after she lost control of a bus on Route 2 in Molunkus Friday morning, according to the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office.

Two students on the bus at the time were not injured.

Marilyn Hersom, 75, was traveling south on Route 2 when she lost control of the bus on the slippery road, hit a large snowbank head-on, spun sideways and came to rest in the snowbank, according to Chief Deputy Sheriff Darrell Crandall.

Hersom was taken by ambulance to Millinocket Regional Hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening. No further information on her condition was available Friday afternoon.

The bus sustained about $5,000 in damage.
