- Lewiston Water Department crews wait for heavy equipment to arrive to dig up Main Street in Lewiston between Mountain Avenue and Ware Streets on Thursday afternoon. Water still seeped from a crack, even after the 12-inch main was shut down. With 3 to 4 feet of frost that had to be excavated, crews on scene were not sure how long the repairs would take.
