The Boys’ River Valley fifth- and sixth-grade travel basketball team completed an undefeated season with a 12-0 record.
The Hornets won their league playoff — defeating Oxford Hills and AYS (Spruce Mountain).
River Valley defeated Oxford Hills in the semifinals, 57-16. Allen Peabody and Cole Morin led a balanced attack for the Hornets with 10 points and 12 rebounds each.
Keegan Melanson also scored 10 points, including a 3-pointer. Darren Hewitt and Wyatt Hathaway scored 8 points each.
In the championship game, River Valley prevailed over AYS, 37-19. It was a hard-fought game with AYS only down two points at the half.
Wyatt Hathaway, Keegan Melanson and Mark Herman Jr. scored 19 of the Hornets’ 23 points in the second half to pull away for the win.
Wyatt Hathaway was the leading scorer with 13 points and five assists. Damion Calder had six points and six steals.
Mark Herman Jr. had six points, five steals and four assists.
For AYS, Trent Tibbetts scored 10 points and Jack Bryant had six.
