TURNER — A special election is scheduled May 20 to fill the position of selectmen Chairman Angelo Terreri who resigned last week with one year left on his term.

Terreri handed in his resignation Thursday, and Town Manager Scott LaFlamme said there was no specific reason given. Terreri has been on the board for nine years.

Nomination papers for his seat will be available shortly after the March 17 selectmen meeting.

Another election is set April 4 to choose a selectman, five Planning Board members and an RSU 52 director.

Selectmen on Thursday voted unanimously to authorize LaFlamme to advertise the town manager’s position. Deadline for applications is 4 p.m. March 14. More information is available on the town website.
