The Maine Class A Coaches Association announced the following four finalists — Kyle Lemelin, Justin Courtney, Alex Fallon and Nik Lemieux —  for the Travis Roy Award, which is given to an outstanding senior Class A hockey player each season.

The award will be presented on Sunday, March 16 at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston as part of the All-State Selection Banquet. The finalists will also participate in the Maine Winter Classic on Saturday night, March 15, at the University of Southern Maine Ice Arena.

Class B Senior All-Stars will take to the ice at 6:10 p.m., followed by the Class A Senior All-Stars at 8:10. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students with 100 percent of the proceeds going to benefit the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital.

Lemelin is a senior captain for Lewiston High School. A four-year starter for the Blue Devils, he was elected as the team captain and selected to the First-Team All East as a forward his junior and senior years. He led the Blue Devils in points the past two seasons. He was a member of two East Regional championship teams and played for two teams from Lewiston that made the Class A State Finals.

Courtney finished the season with 10 goals and 19 assists. He led the Bangor Rams in total points. He is known as as strong defenseman who has a hard shot from the blue line and was a strong asset on the power play and penalty kill this year. Courtney is a three-sport athlete at Bangor. When he is not on the ice for the Rams, he is playing baseball or soccer.

Fallon was a four-year varsity player, a four-year All-State selection and a two-year captain for the Thornton Academy Trojans. As an honor student, Fallon is committed in the classroom and is a fervent community volunteer who has been involved in Mary’s Walk, Winter Carnival and United Way Day of Caring. Fallon plans on attending prep school next year.

Lemieux is a four-year varsity player for the Biddeford Tigers. He was chosen by his teammates to serve as a two-time captain  and has been a three-time All-State selection in Class A West. He led the Tigers in scoring with 21 goals and 22 assists. A mainstay on special teams, Lemieux centered a line with two freshmen on his wings. Lemieux has served as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, Make a Wish, a community-based Day of  Caring and helping with youth hockey players in Biddeford. He is an All-Academic student and is ranked in the Top 25 of his graduating class.
