SANDY RIVER PLANTATION — A 16-year-old boy was injured Wednesday when he struck a tree while snowboarding on the Casablanca glade trail at Saddleback Ski Area, spokeswoman JoAnne Taylor said.
The boy, who was wearing a helmet, proceeded out of the glade on his own and sought help from ski patrol. He complained of rib pain, she said.
The teenager was taken to the first aid room in the Saddleback Base Lodge, she said, and his care was transferred to emergency medical services.
No further information was available Wednesday afternoon.
