LIVERMORE FALLS — Selectmen voted Tuesday to abate $3,565.12 in personal property taxes to Pine Tree Orthopedic Lab LLC on Park Street.
Town Manager Kristal Flagg told selectmen the town’s assessing agent has been working with the company. She also got involved and they toured the facility and looked at its equipment, she said.
She said she believes owners Bruce MacDonald and his son, Todd, would have liked to see more of a tax abatement. The owners had done a physical inventory and submitted a list of property owned by the company, she said.
Some of the property listed was trailers that the owners had paid excise tax on, she said. The property cannot be assessed for personal property taxes and excise taxes, she said.
The company asked for $69,500 in valuation and $1,445.60 in taxes to be abated for 2012-13, Flagg said.
It also asked that $101,900 in valuation and $2,119.52 in taxes be abated for 2013-14, she said.
It all pertains to the same equipment, she said.
The board approved both tax abatement requests.
