A crew busily boards up openings at the 41 Weld St. home of Daniel and Charlotte Louvat in Dixfield on Saturday. The home was mostly destroyed by fire Friday afternoon. Dixfield fire Chief Scott Dennett said early Saturday evening that the fire’s cause had yet to be determined, but a state fire marshal investigator will be on scene on Sunday, March 2, to try to pinpoint that. Charlotte Louvat ran her hair and tanning salon, The Cutter’s House, out of the building.
Ice-covered debris and charred embers are all that is left of the rear portion of Daniel and Charlotte Louvat’s house at 41 Weld St. and The Cutter’s House, Charlotte’s hair and tanning salon business. The building caught fire early Friday afternoon in Dixfield.
