A Jeep Cherokee driven by John J. Jansen, 18, of Winthrop lies on its roof after sliding off Isthmus Road in Rumford and down a 15-foot embankment Tuesday afternoon, police Sgt. Tracey Higley said. Jansen, who had just left Black Mountain Ski Resort, suffered minor cuts to his hands and complained of pain but declined a trip to the hospital, Higley said.
