PORTLAND — Portland police believe a body discovered near Congress Street is that of an individual who jumped from the Maine Medical Center parking garage nearby, Portland NBC affiliate WCSH 6 reported Tuesday morning.
The television station reported that police on the scene said the person had jumped from the nearby structure, which offers nine levels of parking.
Police have not released the identity of the individual.
In late August, police responded to reports of a dead body in Free Street and determined the 54-year-old man jumped more than 80 feet to his death from a nearby parking garage in that case.
