BRIDGTON — The 12th annual Break the Sound Barrier ski race to support the deaf and hard of hearing in Maine will be held at Shawnee Peak on Sunday, March 2.

More than 100 racers will hit the slopes to raise money to benefit hear ME now, Maine’s leading auditory oral education center for children and adults with hearing loss, their families and their communities.

For the second year in a row, Olympic and World Cup alpine skier Julie Parisien will set the pace (although she may be unrecognizable in a costume selected by last year’s fastest racer).

There will be awards for the fastest team and top fundraising teams, as well as individual awards for fastest male, fastest female, fastest under 14, best wipeout, most leisurely pace and more.
