SHERMAN — A Stacyville man has been charged with furnishing a place for minor to consume alcohol after three people sustained minor injuries in a single-vehicle accident on Benedicta Road, according to Maine State Police.
The accident occurred around 6:45 a.m. Saturday, state police indicated in a prepared release. Nichole Goguen, 18, of Houlton was driving her parents’ 2004 Ford pickup truck south on the road when it went off the pavement and then struck and damaged a utility pole, police said.
Cody McNally, 24, of Stacyville and Breanne Briggs, 18, of Houlton were riding in the truck as passengers. All three were wearing seat belts and sustained minor injuries in the accident, according to police. The truck was demolished in the incident and power company crews had to repair the pole, police said.
“The crash appears to be alcohol related and subsequent investigation led to 24-year-old Cameron McNally of Stacyville being charged with furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol,” police wrote in the release.
