AARP chapter to meet Feb. 10

PARIS — The Oxford Hills Chapter of AARP will meet on Monday, Feb. 10, at the First Congregational Church on East Main Street.

Lunch will be served at noon. Meatloaf will be on the menu with a special Valentine dessert. The cost is $6.50 and reservations are required by calling Ruth at 744-9069 by Friday, Feb. 7.

The business meeting will begin at 1 p.m. and members are reminded to bring their donations for the Food Pantry.

The program will feature Dianne Gallagher from Safe Voices.

Emblem Club to hold Valentine dance

FARMINGTON — Farmington Emblem Club No. 460 will hold a Valentine Dance from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at Farmington Elks Lodge.

Public forum on Strathglass Park

RUMFORD — There will be a public forum to discuss the potential for further restoration of Strathglass Park at the community room of the Rumford Public Library from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8.

The forum is sponsored by the Strathglass Park Preservation Society. The event is free and open to the public and light refreshments will be served.

A meeting of the Society, open to members only, will be held at 9 a.m. prior to the forum. Anyone interested in the restoration of Strathglass Park may join by paying the annual fee of $15 to: Strathglass Park Preservation Society, PO Box 65, Rumford, Maine 04276.

Pickle ball, yoga offered in Oxford

OXFORD — Oxford is offering yoga from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday nights at the Community Center. Contact Nikki at 461-4919 for more information.

Pickle ball is being offered twice a week at the Town Office gym. Organizers are looking for senior citizens as well as adults of all ages to play.

Pickle ball can be very low key for some and more intense for others. It is geared to get adults out and socialize and exercise at the same time.

This is not a high energy type of exercise; it is geared for all ages and all levels of play.

Legion bingo every Saturday

KINGFIELD — American Legion Post 61 will hold bingo every Saturday. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and games begin at 6:30.

Free Loaves & Fishes lunch

FARMINGTON — A free Loaves & Fishes fish chowder lunch will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Wednesday through March 26, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Farmington Falls Road.

All are welcome.

No luncheons are held on days that school is canceled.

Emmanuel plans free lunch

LIVERMORE FALLS — Emmanuel Assembly of God will hold a free Community Lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at the American Legion Hall, 17 Reynolds Ave.

CHESTERVILLE — The North Chesterville Extension Homemakers will offer a free Senior Citizen Valentine Luncheon at noon Friday, Feb. 14, in the Chesterville Town Office on the Dutch Gap Road.

Menu will be ham, a vegetarian alternative of veggie pasta, green beans, carrots, mashed potatoes, pickles, regular ice cream, sugar-free ice cream, cupcakes, coffee, tea and lemonade.

Some sort of entertainment will be provided and there will be a table with free magazines for anyone who would like take some.
