GRAY — Andreas Kariotis led a balanced Gray-New Gloucester attack with 15 points and hauled down 16 rebounds to help led the Patriots to a 57-52 win over Freeport in a WMC boys’ basketball clash.

Zack Haskell added eight for Gray-New Gloucester (3-11).

Brenden Qualls of led all players with 26 points — including six 3-pointers — for the Falcons (1-13).

Lisbon 45, Oak Hill 39

LISBON — Tucker Brannon led all players with 15 points, including one from beyond the arc, to help Lisbon to a 45-39 win over Oak Hill in MVC basketball action Saturday.

Jacob Johnston added eight points for the Greyhounds (10-5), while Jacob Bremmer chipped in with six.

Dalton Therrien and Parker Asselin netted 10 each for the Raiders (4-11).

Boys’ hockey

Scarborough 3, St. Dom’s 2

AUBURN — Sam Dedian beat St. Dom’s goalie Zack Roy with 1:49 to play in regulation to lift Scarborough to a 3-2 win in a Class A hockey showdown Saturday at Norway Savings Bank Arena.

Matt Henderson had the other two goals for the Red Storm (8-2-1), who were coming off a loss to Lewiston.

Caleb Labrie continued his hot hand for the Saints (6-4-1) with a goal, and Cam Stewart added the other.

Biddeford 6, Lewiston 3

LEWISTON — Ricky Ruck and Nik Lemieux scored a pair of goals each for Biddeford as the Tigers upset Lewiston 6-3 in boys’ hockey action Saturday.

Alex Ruck and Brady Crepeau also scored for Biddeford (4-5-1), while Brandon Daigle was spectacular between the pipes to keep the Blue Devils (9-3-0) off the board early.

Evan Gosselin, Eddie Emerson and Kyle Ulrich scored for Lewiston.

Girls’ hockey

Lewiston 5, York 0

LEWISTON — Erin Hubbard scored twice and three other Blue Devils lit the lamp as Lewiston skated away with a 5-0 win over York in girls’ hockey action Saturday.

Erica Lemieux, Corinne Laberge and Allison Frechette also scored, and Paige Fontaine pitched the shutout between the pipes.

Leavitt/EL 10, Brunswick 0

AUBURN — Danica Nadeau and Taylor Landry each netted a hat trick for the Leavitt Little Red Hornets in a 10-0 win over Brunswick.

Ally MacKenize had two goals of her own while Madison DeRosa and Abby Roy rounded out the scoring.

Savannah Shaw earned the shutout.

Girls’ basketball

Carrabec 69, Lisbon 39

NORTH ANSON — Emma Pluntke and Mickayla Willette poured in 15 points each as Carrabec ran away from Lisbon for a 69-39 win in MVC girls’ basketball action Saturday.

Macy Welch (13) and Libby Chestnut (11) also hit for double figures for the Cobras, who ran their record to 12-3.

Bri Sautter drained three 3-pointers for the Greyhounds and Adrianna White had 11 points in the loss.

York 63, Poland 55

POLAND — The York Wildcats had four girls in double digits in a 63-55 victory over Poland in a girls’ Western Maine Conference basketball game.

Mia Briggs led the Wildcats (10-4) with 17 points. Paige McElwain chipped in with 15 while Shannon Todd had and Chloe Smedley pitched in with 12.

Emily Bolduc led all scorers with 23 points, including four 3-pointers for Poland (8-6). Sarah Bolduc dropped in 18 points for Poland.

Women’s basketball

CMCC 71, College of St. Joseph’s 41

AUBURN — In their first game of the second semester, the Central Maine Community College Mustangs shook off some early rust and routed the Fighting Saints of the College of St. Joseph’s, 71-41. Early on, Gabby Foy of Wilton conndcted on three 3s to spark the offense.

Susie French was one steal away for another triple-double, finishing with 23 points, 14 rebounds, and 9 steals.

Tufts 62, Bates 46

MEDFORD, Mass. — Senior Liz Moynihan scored a team-high 11 points in 22 minutes as No. 6 Tufts University women’s basketball defeated Bates College, 62-46, at Cousens Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.

UMF 88, Green Mountain 40

POULTNEY, Vt. — The University of Maine at Farmington women’s basketball team had four players score in double-digits as it handedGreen Mountain College its 13th loss of the season, winning 88-40 Saturday afternoon at the Eagle Dome.

UMF 86, Green Mountain 56

POULTNEY, Vt. — Senior forward Andrew Dickey scored 40 points to lead the University of Maine at Farmington to a 86-56 victory over Green Mountain College Saturday.

Tufts 59, Bates 55

MEDFORD, Mass. —Bates College men’s basketball used a furious second-half comeback to take a late lead, but Tufts University made enough plays down the stretch to hold on for a 59-55 win.

The Jumbos held a lead as large as 16 points at 44-28 with 13:11 remaining, but the Bobcats made their way back into the game behind a 21-3 run which gave them their first lead, 49-47, at the 5:57 mark.
