PARIS — Emily and Hayley Quirion combined for 39 points as Cony finally washed its hands of Oxford Hills after three overtimes in a 68-62 victory in a girls’ basketball game Thursday.

The Vikings held 25-24 advantage at halftime. Oxford Hills’ Anna Winslow scored 21 points and Mikayla Morin and Tainna Sugars each had 11. Crystal West scored 10 points.

Bayleigh Logan scored 14 points Alyssah Dennett score 11 for Cony.

Monmouth 52, Wiscasset 34

WISCASSET — Sidney Wilson scored 15 points and Paxton Lessard added 11 as Monmouth (9-5) shook off Wiscasst 52-34 in a girls’ basketball game Thursday.

The Mustangs had a great second quarter, scoring 19 points. For Wiscasset (3-1), Kayla Gordon scored 15 points.

Boys’ basketball

Oak Hill 45, Madison 44

WALES — Madison’s last-ditch effort to score at the buzzer failed, allowing Oak Hill to sneak away with a 45-44 victory in a boys’ basketball game Thursday.

The Bulldogs (6-8) held a 26-17 lead at the half before the Raiders (4-10) rallied and erupted with 17 points in the final quarter. Oak Hill’s Derek Gamage led the charge for the Raiders, scoring 19 points and pulling down 16 rebounds. Kyle Field also hit the boards hard, pulling down 10 rebounds.

The Bulldogs got 11 points from Derek Lablanc and teammate Chris Hayden dropped in 10.

Carrabec 58, Mt. Abram 50

SALEM — Elliot Gorr scored 12 points and teammates Boog Dunphy and Richard Layton each helped out with 11 points as Carrabec ditched Mt. Abram (1-13) with a 58-50 victory in a boys’ basketball game Thursday.

The Cobras (4-7) built a 26-25 lead at halftime before unloading on the Roadrunners with 21 points in the final quarter. Carrebec knocked down eight 3-pointers in the game.

Mt. Abram’s Amos Withee scored 17 points and dropped in five 3-pointers and teammate Tristen Dyer had 13 points.

Boys’ hockey

St. Dom’s 6, Thornton 2

BIDDEFORD — St. Dominic Academy’s boys’ hockey team is picking up steam at just the right time.

Caleb Labrie turned a natural hat trick in the third period as the Saints overcame a pair of quick goals from Thornton Academy to skate away with a 6-2 win over the Trojans in a Class A boys’ hockey tilt on Thursday.

Labrie also picked up an assist in the game.

Brad Berube, Chase Hainey and Tyler Sirois also scored for the Saints (6-3-1), who have a handful of tough tests on the horizon, with Falmouth and Lewiston on the schedule.

Owen Lemoine was the top offensive player for the Trojans (4-4-1), with a pair of goals.

After a scoreless first frame, the Trojans got on the board first with a goal just 55 seconds into the second on a power play.

The Saints responded with goals 10 seconds apart at 9:20 and 9:30 to wrestle the lead back.

Sirois followed up another quick Lemoine strike in the third to put the Saints back in front for good.

Labrie then went to work. All six assists credited to the Saints on Labrie’s three goals came from different players.

Zack Roy stopped 10 of 12 shots he faced to earn the victory. Andrew Huot stopped 23 of 29 for the Trojans.
